Lunch Yesterday
I forgot to upload photos of my lunch yesterday, so here they are. This is pan fried ahi (tuna) with locally grown spinach and a shimeiji mushroom ragout. The ragout is a kind of thick sauce. This ragout in particular used a bit of miso to flavor it. The rice is fried wakame rice. Wakame is a kind of kelp or edible seaweed. This is the kind of seaweed you'd find in miso soup.
The shimeiji mushrooms come from Hawaii's "fungal jungle", which is located on the Hamakua Coast of The Big Island. These are better known as Hamakua mushrooms, even though they have different varieties. All the ingredients they use are locally-grown so that it's guaranteed to be fresh. You can taste the difference if you tried.
